Northern BC Tourism Association

Job Location: Northern British Columbia

Term: Permanent, Full Time (37.5 hrs / week)

Salary Range: $65,000 - $68,000 / year


Job Description

Northern BC Tourism Association (NBCTA), a Regional Destination Management Organization,

is seeking a talented Bookkeeping and Administration Specialist to join our team. As the

Bookkeeping and Administration Specialist, you will oversee the financial aspects of the

association including managing financial records, preparing budgets, and producing

appropriate financial reports. In this role you will work closely with the CEO and be responsible

for overseeing the financial health of the organization. As the Bookkeeping and Administration

Specialist you will also assume administrative duties including but not limited to; administration

of the association’s benefits plan, management of the society’s reporting requirements, and

organizing board meetings and events. In this role, your bookkeeping experience, accounting

knowledge, and your attention to detail are essential to your success. You are self-motivated

Responsibilities


Bookkeeping

● Accounts Receivable

● Account Collections

● Accounts Payable

● Process Expense Claims

● Allocating to Projects

● Posting to the General Ledger

● Bank Deposits

● Bank Reconciliation

● Multiple Budgets

● Project Allocations

● Government Quarterly Reporting

● GST Filing

● Preparing for Annual Audit/Year-End Procedures


Payroll

● Ability to use online payroll system and work with payroll providers

● Yearly Work Safe BC report and remittance

● Experience with T4 filings and all related matters

Administrative Responsibilities

● Organize board meeting/AGM events, and associated business

● Administration of the association’s benefits plan

● Managing associated insurance policies

● Manage and organize Society reporting

● Management of office building maintenance

● Updating database - Hubspot

● Stakeholder outreach and providing support for other areas of NBCTA’s operations

● The Bookkeeping and Administration Specialist reports directly to the CEO


Qualifications

● 5 years bookkeeping experience (“Not for Profit” experience preferred)

● Sage and Excel experience mandatory

● Bookkeeping Certification, Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

● Budgeting and project experience is a must

● Experience with Microsoft Office 365, Gmail, Google Drive would be an asset

● Reliability in keeping deadlines

● This position will be based in NBCTA’s Prince George office
