POSITION SUMMARY 

Haida Tourism is a Haida-owned company, owned and operated by Haida Enterprise Corporation (HaiCo). HaiCo is focused on building Haida owned enterprises that reflect Haida cultural values, investing in the training and mentorship of Haida Citizens, creating careers and improving the lives of Haida Citizens and the economy of Haida Gwaii. 

Reporting to the Director of Guest Services, Sales & Marketing, the Driver position is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience. The Driver will work with the guest service team to deliver an exceptional guest experience.  The hours of work will include evenings and weekends. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

• Drive guests to guided activities and airports when needed 

• Help execute on the delivery of tailored guest experiences  
• Consult and update guests on their planned guest experiences 
• Troubleshoot necessary changes in guest itineraries to ensure guest satisfaction 
• Help to coordinate staff and contractors to deliver guest services, ensuring ongoing and cooperative relationships 
• Ensure respectful and timely communication with guests, staff and members of the community 

• Transport Haida Tourism employees to and from the worksites  
• Maintenance and cleaning of Haida Tourism vehicles  
• Other related duties as required 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES  

• Excellent conversational skills focused on service delivery 

• Strong understanding of Haida cultural values  
• Value hospitality and connecting with people 
• Adaptable and resilient with last minute changes  

TRAINING, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE  

• 1+ years experience in tourism or hospitality industry  

• Valid BC driver’s license with Class 4 or greater certification 
• Excellent knowledge of Haida Gwaii and connections in the community to support building out guest experiences
