Stop The Violence ( STV) Outreach Worker

Temporary, part-time (16.5 hours per week), to the return of the incumbent, with the possibility of converting to a permanent position. The posting is based out of Daajing Giids, working with a small and mighty feminist, consensus-based community organization. Wage is $33.00 per hour with a generous staff wellness approach and benefits package.

Job Summary:

The Outreach Worker will lead community networking initiatives to increase the safety of women and children. The worker will develop and deliver culturally appropriate public education initiatives to raise awareness of the effects of violence against women; violence prevention; services available to women who have experienced violence, abuse, or threats. The worker will provide support and assistance to women who have experienced violence and provide local transportation, when needed.  The program serves southern Haida Gwaii (Daajing Giids, HlGaagilda Skidegate, Tllal Tlell, and Kil Kun Sandspit.
