Speech Language Pathologist (Permanent Full-Time)

📍 Prince Rupert, BC (travel required)

 

Salary:            $48.30-55.89/hour     

Benefits:        This is a unionized position with salary and benefits subject to the requirements of the BC Government Employees Union’s Collective Agreement. 

Union Grid:    17-P-SLP (BCGEU-CSSEA)

Hours:            35 hours/week (Monday–Friday, 7 hours/day, flexibility to meet client needs)

This is a full-time position; however, part-time arrangements may be considered for the right candidate.

Start Date:     August 2026 (or as soon as possible)

💼 About the Role

As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) works with children and youth experiencing communication challenges, including speech, language, and social communication delays or disorders.

Reporting to the Team Lead for Goal-Focused Services, you will:

  • Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized intervention plans
  • Support children and youth in achieving communication and developmental milestones
  • Address speech production, language development, and social communication needs
  • Recommend and support the use of assistive communication technologies and strategies
  • Promote successful participation in home, school, and community settings
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, schools, and community partners
  • Deliver services using culturally inclusive and trauma-informed approaches
  • Provide services across rural and remote communities, including Indigenous communities within the North Coast and Haida Gwaii region
  • Support regional service delivery, including virtual care options

🎓 Qualifications

·        Successful completion of an entry-to-practice speech-language pathology program

·        Registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC

·        Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in pediatric SLP service delivery and supervision of a Rehabilitation or Therapy Assistant

  • Clear Criminal Record Review
  • Ability to use standard office and communication technologies
  • Physical capacity to meet job requirements
  • Class 5 driver’s license, clean driver’s abstract, and access to a reliable vehicle
