North Coast Community Services Society (NCCS) is seeking an Intake Coordinator to join our dedicated, collaborative and close-knit Family Connection Centre team. This position may be based in Prince Rupert or Haida Gwaii, where meaningful work is grounded in strong community relationships, rich cultures, and the spectacular beauty of BC's North Coast.

💼 About the Role

The Intake Coordinator is an essential member of the Family Connection Centre team. Reporting to the Developmental Services Team Lead, the Intake Coordinator provides intake and service coordination for parents and caregivers and their children or youth with support needs. In this role, you will:

• Conduct brief screenings and assessments to identify the specific service needs of each child, youth, and family
• Provide information about child development, Family Connection Centre services, and other community resources
• Connect children, youth, and families with relevant services and support smooth transitions between services
• Provide needs-based screening as part of the intake process
• Assist families with appointment reminders, service coordination, needs identification, and advocacy
• Provide parenting skill-building related to parent-child interaction, child development, discipline and guidance, and behaviour management
• Remain connected through regular individual meetings as the family's consistent point of contact
• Help remove barriers to service by building networks and providing application assistance and information
• Build relationships with community service providers and organizations to improve service integration
• Participate in relevant staff meetings, case conferences, and competency-based professional development

✅ Qualifications:

·        Early Childhood Education Certificate

·        Two years of work experience in child development, including community-based or multidisciplinary services

·        Current approved first aid certificate

·        Knowledge of the communities served by the Family Connection Centre

·        Demonstrated ability to use a cultural safety framework

✔️ Additional Requirements:

·        Clear Criminal Record Review

·        Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn new applications
