Job Details

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Team Lead to oversee the daily operations of our childcare program at Port Edward Community School. This leadership role is ideal for an individual who is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for young children while supporting staff and building strong relationships with families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the childcare program
  • Ensure the safety, supervision, and well-being of all children
  • Implement the Early Learning Framework and plan engaging, developmentally appropriate activities
  • Foster curiosity and support children’s individual needs and interests
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment
  • Build strong, positive relationships with children, families, and staff
  • Ensure compliance with licensing requirements and child-to-staff ratios
  • Provide leadership and support to staff, including scheduling and substitute coordination
  • Communicate effectively with families through newsletters, bulletin boards, and other methods
  • Oversee snack planning and preparation
  • Implement and maintain sanitation and cleaning schedules
  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education (minimum two years post-secondary or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with children
  • At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience
  • Valid ChildSafe First Aid Certificate
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with children, families, and colleagues
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
  • Physically able to perform the duties of the position
