Job Description

Transition House Support Worker

Job Summary


In our team-centered environment, Support Workers provide support, information, and 
referrals to women and children in crisis in a professional, non-judgmental, and 
empowering manner.

Required Qualifications


1. Diploma in a related human / social service field. One-year recent related experience. 
Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
2. Experience working with women and/or children in the Social Service Field
3. Demonstrated solid understanding of the dynamics of the cycle of abuse
4. Proven assertive management of crisis situations, ability to interact effectively with 
clients
5. Above-par ability to maintain clear and firm boundaries
6. Exceptional oral and written communication skills
7. Ability to exercise initiative, and apply strong problem solving and decision-making 
skills
8. Ability to integrate and contribute to a well-established team
9. Excellent record of attendance & time keeping as proven by past history

Shifts are seven days/week, 12 hours. Day shifts are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., night shifts are 8 
p.m. to 8 a.m. Shifts are flexible. We work around your schedule.

Wage range: $25.05 - $28.75 / hour, plus 10.6% of straight time pay.
