Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to a maximum of three (3) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.

CYSN Generalist
$65,844.70 - $86,668.39 annually which includes a 1 Grid Temporary Market Adjustment, plus $43.17 bi-weekly isolation allowance for Prince Rupert.

The Ministry of Children and Family Development is offering an opportunity for individuals to make a difference in the lives of Children and Youth with Support Needs in British Columbia. The key to this role is your support to families and communities in the process of raising their children.

In your role as a Children and Youth with Support Needs Generalist (CYSN), you may provide a combination of family support and guardianship functions. You will convene and facilitate assessment and planning processes with individuals and/or families who have met the CYSN eligibility criteria and determine the supports and services that they require. Coordinating access to the best services available, you collaborate and build relationships with service providers, community partners, contracted agencies and foster parents.

Qualifications for this role include:
1. Preferred Credentials:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in social work or in child & youth Care OR master’s degree in educational counselling psychology/Master of Arts in counselling psychology with completion of a practicum in family and child welfare OR
• In-service Ministry of Children and Family Development employees who have a SPO 24-30 base position that requires delegation under the Child, Family and Community Services Act (CFCSA).

2. Expanded Credentials:
• Bachelor’s degree in a human services field OR bachelor’s degree with a major/honors in a human services field OR master’s level graduate certificate/diploma in a human services field AFTER the completion of an unrelated bachelor’s degree.
• PLUS, a minimum of one (1) year of related OR job-specific work experience.
• Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
