Job Description:
Mount Moresby Adventure Camp is looking for motivated, dedicated, and enthusiastic people 
to be a part of our Team for our upcoming Spring Break Camps. We are holding 4 camps this 
Spring:
May 13-17 Grade 6 Tahayghen, ALM
May 20-26 Grade 9 GTN
June 3-9 Grade 9 GKN
June 10-14 Grade 6 Sk’adgaa Naay
Employees will have a unique opportunity to cook for a wonderful Staff and great Youth at the 
remote and beautiful facility located at Mosquito Lake G̱awu Ḵuns Siiwaay.
We are looking to fill an Assistant Cook Position and the tasks required are as follows:
• Assist the Lead Cook in the daily operations of the camp kitchen
• Cook for Staff during a pre-camp Staff Orientation
• Assist in the preparation of food for meals and snacks
• Prepare spaces for serving meals 
• Help unload and store food properly
• Assist in daily cleaning of the cookhouse 
• Check with Lead Cook for participant numbers and lists of allergies and dietary needs for each 
week of camp
• Work closely with the Lead Cook to plan a menu for each week including 3 meals and 2 snacks 
per day
• Help prep for the camp week 
• For Mosquito Mountain trips, prepare food in advance that can be transported and warmed 
on fire. Plan all snacks and meals before leaving
• Assist in the supervision of campers, volunteers and staff in the preparation, serving, and 
cleanup of all meals and snacks 
• Help maintain the organization and inventory of food supplies in the food storage areas 
• Liaise with the Lead Cook in a professional, courteous manner
• Report to Lead Cook, then Executive Director and liaise with Lead Counsellors as needed
• Report any injuries, behavioural concerns, or disclosures to the Camp Cook and/or Lead 
Instructor(s)
Job Requirements:
1. Valid Foodsafe Certificate
2. Spoken and written English language
3. Knowledge of Xaad kil and/or Xaayda kil an asset
4. Valid WFR and WAFA certificates an asset
5. Knowledge of Haida Cultural Values an asset
6. Experience working with Youth an asset
7. Experience cooking in a remote location an asset
8. A Police Information Check will be required for successful candidates
Pay Range:
$220/day, with a pay scale increase for returning Staff
Mileage will be reimbursed.
