An employment opportunity exists for a Continuing Part-Time (0.143 FTE) Teacher Librarian effective September 1, 2026 at GidGalang Kuuyas Naay Secondary School.
Requirements:
· A university teaching major directly related to the requirements listed below and/or a Degree in Library Science or completion of Teacher Librarian Diploma program:
· Understanding and being committed to the Calls to Action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, including the eradication of existing and persistent equity gaps for specific groups of children;
· Commitment to integrating Indigenous culture and experience into learning activities.
· Work collaboratively to plan units of study with classroom teachers;
· Teach information literacy to students within a variety learning contexts.
· Develop curricula that integrates information literacy, new media and new technologies.
· Collaborate with teachers to strengthen literacy learning for all students;
· Select quality resources and manage collections that support the curriculum, lifelong learning, and independent reading;
· Ability to deal meaningfully with differentiated student learning styles and behaviour issues, and demonstrate an ability to address individual student needs;
· Proven interpersonal skills, work ethic and demonstrated abilty to work collaboratively with students, teachers, education assistants, parents and administrators.
· Understanding of local resources and environment;
· The ability to work in a team situation daily in the classroom;
· Teacher Regulation Branch certification.
Competitive Salary: $10,784 - $17,192 per annum
Remote and Rural Allowance: $501 per annum
Travel Allowance: $172 per annum
Up to $2,000 relocation allowance upon submission of receipts
