Supporting teachers to enhance students communications skills
An employment opportunity exists for a Temporary Part-Time (0.2 FTE) South District Communication Skills Specialist Teacher effective September 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027.
Requirements:
· A university teaching major, or its equivalent, relevantly related to the teaching position;
· Understanding and being committed to the Calls to Action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, including the eradication of existing and persistent equity gaps for specific groups of children;
· The focus of this role will be to support teachers to enhance students’ Communication Skills;
· Work in collaboration with the District staff to plan and provide professional learning opportunities and support teachers in designing for personalization of student learning;
· Have proven skills with creating strength-based, core competency centred student action plans and supporting student success though individual student goal setting;
· Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, instruct and evaluate learning activities for students’ strengths and for their academic, social, emotional and behavioural needs;
· Understanding of local resources and environment;
· Teacher Regulation Branch certification.
Competitive Salary: $15,083 - $24,044 per annum
Remote and Rural Allowance: $700 per annum
Travel Allowance: $241 per annum
Up to $2,000 relocation allowance upon submission of receipts
