Wage: $21.64 (tax exempt, with status) plus tips

Position Overview:

The Shop Attendant is responsible for providing friendly and efficient customer service while preparing and serving coffee beverages, ice cream, and other menu items. This role is a combination of barista and ice cream server duties, requiring someone who enjoys working with the public and can thrive in a fast-paced environment. The Shop Attendant helps maintain a clean, welcoming shop atmosphere, ensures product quality, and contributes to creating a positive experience for every customer.  

Reporting Relationship:

This position reports directly to the Coffee Shop Manager or designated supervisor.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

·        Previous barista or food service experience is an asset but not required.

·        Friendly, outgoing personality with strong customer service skills.

·        Reliable and punctual.

·        Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

·        Ability to stand for extended periods and lift supplies.

·        Food Safe Certification

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve espresso-based drinks, drip coffee, teas and specialty drinks.
• Prepare soft serve ice cream and other treats. 
• Greet customers with warmth and provide superior customer service.
• Operate the point of sale system and handle payments.
• Restock supplies and assist with opening/closing duties.
• Maintain cleanliness of the coffee and ice cream service areas.
• Assist with opening and closing duties.
