We are looking for a Resource Worker to provide culturally safe, trauma-informed support to Indigenous community members.
• Assist community members in accessing health, social, and community services.
• Provide guidance on programs, eligibility, and procedures.
• Advocate for clients and families to ensure their needs are met.
• Support clients through life transitions in a culturally safe, trauma-informed manner.
• Collaborate with Elders, Traditional Healers, and other community resources to support holistic wellness.
• Maintain accurate records of client interactions, referrals, and outcomes.
• Compile statistics and maintain files in compliance with confidentiality and privacy protocols.
• Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development opportunities.
• Assist with organizing community workshops, events, or informational sessions as required.
• Build trusting relationships with clients, families, and community members.
• Participate in culturally appropriate ceremonies, events, and initiatives.
• Support clients in navigating complex systems, identifying solutions, and accessing resources.
• Balance multiple priorities and requests while maintaining accuracy and timeliness.
Education & Training:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in Social Work, Human Services, or related field is an asset.
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience working with Indigenous children, youth, families, or communities.
• Training in trauma-informed care, cultural safety, and client advocacy preferred.
• Valid BC Class 5 driver’s license preferred.
Preferred Experience & Knowledge:
• Understanding of Indigenous cultural values, traditions, and protocols.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and community-based support approaches.
• Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and advocacy skills.
• Ability to collaborate with teams and adapt to changing priorities.
