Primary Teacher

The Living and Learning School is an independent school located in Daajing Giids (Haida Gwaii) with a focus on outdoor education, problem solving, academics, individualized learning, social responsibility, and environmental stewardship. 

We are actively seeking an energetic teacher to lead a small multi-grade class for the 2026-27 school year. Our school operates primarily 4 days per week, with one 5-day week per month, equivalent to 0.8 FTE.

You are: 

• a passionate educator certified to teach in BC schools
• skilled in positive classroom management
• inspired to work with a small multi-grade class (typically K-3)
• successful at working collaboratively with colleagues, parents and students

We offer:

• salary range: $55,000 to $78,000 commensurate with experience and level of responsibility
• health benefits and paid sick and discretionary time
• 12 students per class maximum
• regular classroom support
