Job Description

Peer Support/Housing Support Worker

Position Type: Full-time, 4-on-3-off 12 hr shifts Wage: $26/hr. Start Date: March 01, 2026

Job Summary The Peer Support / Housing Support Worker supports adults living in a culturally grounded, second-stage recovery and supportive housing program. This role helps create a warm, safe, and respectful home environment that fosters stability, connection, accountability, and community. The position provides day-to-day relational support, assists residents with communal living, and responds to crises and emergencies as needed. This is a fast-paced, emotionally demanding role requiring strong boundaries, flexibility, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Shifts may be 8–12 hours.

Key Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one peer and housing support focused on wellness, safety, and housing stability.

Support a safe, respectful, and culturally supportive living environment.

Maintain building safety and respond to incidents, crises, and emergencies (including de-escalation and overdose response).

Encourage shared responsibilities, house guidelines, and respectful conflict resolution.

Support resident participation in cultural, wellness, and recovery programming, including group activities.

Serve meals as needed and support shared meal routines.

Maintain cleanliness of shared spaces following health and safety protocols.

Complete required documentation and participate in team meetings and training.

Required Qualifications

Ability to obtain a Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector).

Valid First Aid/CPR and Naloxone training (or willingness to obtain).

Physical ability to meet job demands and work 12-hour shifts, including in crisis situations.
