Carpenter Job Posting

Marcan Construction has been operating in Prince Rupert Since 1996. Primary work is in commercial and industrial construction. Union shop, CMAW local 1735. We are currently hiring Journeyman / Apprentice Carpenters. Positions are full time permanent or temporary, 40 hours a week paying competitive wages. We recognize all statutory and construction holidays. Benefits include medical, dental, eye ware and pension. Most of the work is local so there is very little travel involved. Must be able to relocate to Prince Rupert BC.

Skills

Knowledge and experience with hand and power tools

Good Knowledge of wood properties and other carpentry materials

Work with and without supervision while following all health and safety standards

Be able to read blueprints, drawings, and sketches

Knowledge of heavy-duty equipment would be an asset but not mandatory

Experience with Arial lifts, platforms, and scaffolding would be beneficial.

Requirements:

Driver’s License

Red Seal Journeyman or 5 years’ experience in carpentry

Experience in Commercial and Industrial construction
