Job Description

 

CARPENTERS

Progressive Ventures Construction is seeking career-minded individuals who are looking to grow with our company and advance their careers over time.

 

Responsibilities:

·        Build structures, including formwork and concrete finishing, walls, steel structures, doors and windows, trusses, roofing, building envelope systems, thermal protection, drywall, millwork, and demolition

·        Use a variety of building skills and techniques while balancing speed, accuracy, and efficient use of materials

·        Operate various hand and power tools

·        Maintain safe worksites and participate in safety procedures

 

The successful candidate will:

·        Be a Journeyman Carpenter or have equivalent experience

·        Be able to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, drawings, and sketches

·        Have a strong understanding of the BC Building Code and WorkSafeBC safety procedures for commercial and industrial sites

·        Have a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn

·        Hold a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

 

Pay Range: $38 - $45

 

Additional pay:

·        Boot and Tool allowance

Work Schedules:

Standard:

·        40 hours per week (Typical but project dependent)

·        Monday to Friday (Typical)

·        Overtime and weekends (as needed)

 

Shift Positions:

·        12 hour days (Typical)

·        14 & 7 Rotation (Typical)

·        Additional Overtime as needed

 

Experience:

·        Carpentry experience in Commercial & Industrial are preferred, but all industry backgrounds are welcome.

·        Apprentices may also apply for similar positions.

 

Licence/Certification:

·        Red Seal Carpenter (Or Assessed Equivalent)

·        Driving Licence (preferred)

·        Additional industry trainings including Intermediate or Basic first aid, Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platform & Confined Space are assets.

 

Work Location: In person, based out of Terrace BC, work locations around BC.
