Job Description

Job Title: Fire Extinguisher Technician

Location: Prince Rupert

Job Type: Part-time, Full-time, 20-35hrs/week

Salary: $ 21, opportunity for increased compensation for qualified and high-performing candidates.


Overview

We are seeking a reliable, fast-working, and organized individual to service and inspect fire protection equipment for our customers. This role is critical to ensuring clients remain insurance compliant and meet all applicable fire safety requirements. The ideal candidate takes pride in accuracy, timeliness, and customer service, and is interested in growing within the fire protection industry. Starting pay begins at $21 per hour, with the opportunity for increased compensation for qualified and high-performing candidates.

Fire Protection experience is preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.

Duties

  • Service, inspect, test, and maintain fire extinguishers in accordance with applicable codes and standards
  • Perform fire safety inspections at customer locations to ensure compliance with insurance and regulatory requirements
  • Fire extinguisher servicing and assistance with Fire alarm systems, Emergency lighting, Kitchen fire suppression system inspections and maintenance
  • Accurately complete inspection reports, service tags, and required documentation
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding findings, recommendations, and compliance needs
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicle in a safe and organized manner
  • Work efficiently to meet scheduled service times and deadlines

Requirements

  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work quickly while maintaining attention to detail
  • Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated
  • Comfortable working independently and traveling to customer sites
  • Ability to lift and carry fire extinguishers and equipment as required (up to 50lbs)
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn fire protection systems
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (if applicable)
