Prince Rupert / Haida Gwaii (possibility of remote work)

FULL-TIME POSITION

 

Hecate Strait Employment Development Society (HSEDS) is a non-profit organization that provides resources for jobseekers, newcomers, employers, and new entrepreneurs. Our mission is to serve and build connections for people to reach their employment, training, and settlement goals.

 

Our vision is to be a catalyst for people to build success in the evolving economy.

 

As an Executive Assistant/HR Coordinator you are responsible for supporting the general business operations of the Society; responding to general inquiries with timely, friendly, and reliable guidance. In addition, this position provides confidential administrative and human resource support.


Nature andScope:

·       This position is involved in personnel issues and is privy to confidential information;

·       Support and enhance the efforts of all departments working in a collaborative manner, providing quality professional service;

·       As a member of our team, participate in scheduled meetings and committee activities to further the goals of

HSEDS’ Human Resources;

·       Responsible for developing and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external groups;

·       Work collaboratively with a team that has members in Prince Rupert and Haida Gwaii, and be actively engaged

in contributing to and accomplishing the vision, mission, and goals of HSEDS, and in supporting the aspirations and needs of our clients and teammates;

·       Participate in organizational initiatives, events, and special projects;

·       Develop and maintain effective communication across all departments;

·       Promote a positive work atmosphere by interacting and communicating with colleagues in a professional manner that demonstrates mutual respect.


Specific Duties:

·       Other related duties as assigned.


Desired Qualifications:

·       One-year certificate in Office Administration, Business Administration, or other relevant discipline;

·       Knowledge of the Employment Standards Act BC;

·       Excellent oral and written communication skills;

·       Demonstrated exceptional computer software skills;

·       Ability to enter and manage data with speed and accuracy;

·       Strong organizational and judgement skills to ensure that deadlines are met while working with frequent interruptions;

·       Demonstrated exceptional administrative support skills, including the ability to take responsibility, display initiative, and make independent decisions;

·       Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills;

·       Demonstrated commitment to service excellence and teamwork;

·       Ability to perform duties in a confidential manner with minimal supervision;

·       Able to prioritize, multi-task, and complete assignments under strict deadlines;

·       Able to work effectively as part of a collaborative team as well as independently;

·       A high degree of professionalism and respect for confidentiality;

·       Previous experience working in a non-profit environment is preferred.


Requirements:

·       Satisfactory criminal record check

Compensation:

·       $28.50 per hour
