ELEMENTARY CLASSROOM TEACHER

Daaxiigan Sk’adaa Née K-12 School

 

An employment opportunity exists for a TEMPORARY Full-Time (1.0 FTE) Elementary Classroom Teacher effective May 1, 2026 to June 26, 2026 at Daaxiigan Skadaa Née K-12 School.

 

Requirements:

·      A university teaching major, or its equivalent, directly related to the teaching position;

·      Understanding and being committed to the calls to action of the Truth and Reconciliation commission, including the eradication of existing and persistent equity gaps for specific groups of children;

·      High level of skills related to successful classroom management, and to the development and maintenance of a positive classroom climate;

·      Experience with multi-grade classes an asset;

·      Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, instruct and evaluate learning activities for students’ strengths and for their academic, social, emotional and behavioural needs;

·      Assume responsibility for the development and execution of Individual Education Plans and Behaviour Support Plans;

·      Knowledge of school-based teams;

·      Be prepared to provide support in creating inclusive learning environments where students are connected, supported, engaged and challenged;

·      Proven interpersonal skills, work ethic and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, education assistants, parents and administrators;

·      Understanding of local resources and environment;

·      Teacher Regulation Branch certification.

 

Competitive Salary: $65,971 - $113,312 per annum

Remote and Rural Allowance: $3,035 per annum

Travel Allowance: $1,136 per annum
