Job Description

Job Title: Customer Service/Ramp Agent

Location: Prince Rupert

Job Type: Permanent part-time on-call (up to 20 hours per week)

Wage: $18.80/hr, Raise after 3 months (260hr) probation. Paid 7 hours for 3 hour shift.

United Ramp Inc. is looking for a permanent part-time on-call (up to 20 hours per week) Customer Service and/or Ramp Agent based in Prince Rupert. We are seeking a candidate who is looking to enjoy a family-oriented, dynamic and rewarding work environment. We are excited to welcome safety-oriented and customer service minded individual to con7nue their career with our company. United Ramp Inc. is headquartered Lake Country, BC. We provide customer and ground service operations to Air Canada/ Jazz Aviation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Check-in passengers, issue boarding passes, verify immigration documents
  • Check baggage and collect excess baggage/overweight charges
  • Answer calls, book, change and cancel flight reservations
  • Resolve service disruption issues such as cancelled or missed flights, determining alternative flight options
  • Execute deplaning and boarding processes, ensuring a safe, on-time departure
  • Marshall, de-ice and anti-ace aircraft
  • On-load and off-load passenger luggage, cargo, containers/pallets, etc.
  • Possess an excellent understanding of company products, services, processes and guidelines and promote them at all times
  • Commitment to providing a safe, stress-free and friendly passenger experience
  • Deliver service standards in accordance with United Ramp Inc. and Air Canada philosophy
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ramp Agent only must hold a valid BC driver licence (free from all DUI, DWI, reckless or negligent driving within the last five years, no suspensions, terminations or revocations in the last five years)
  • Able to obtain airport “Drivers Airside” certification (Ramp Only)
  • Must be eligible to obtain and retain an Airport RAP (Restricted Area Pass – Airport security clearance)
  • Provide an RCMP Clear Criminal Record check, (cost reimbursed by United Ramp Incorporated on pay following the submission of the receipt)
  • Previous customer service experiences an asset.
  • Friendly, knowledgeable and polite in all situations.
  • Strong diplomacy and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent oral communication skills. Strong ability to listen and respond respectively to repetitive questions, additional languages are an asset
  • Strong organizational skills required, able to make decisions and meet deadlines while handling multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to work without supervision when necessary
  • • Able to work rotating, flexible shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays (Shifts are subject to change based on our customers’ needs and schedules)
  • Knowledge of computers and office programs. Ability to learn new computer programs and manual processes
  • Capable of lifting up to 70 pounds
