About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and culturally grounded Addictions Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide trauma-informed, culturally safe support to individuals and families affected by substance use and addiction. You will guide clients through every stage of their recovery journey — from assessment and treatment planning to transitional care and aftercare — while honouring Indigenous traditions, worldviews, and community healing practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build trusting, client-centred relationships and provide ongoing support throughout recovery.

• Collaborate with clients to create support plans that focus on their strengths and personal goals.

• Support clients during transitions between care settings and help strengthen personal and community support networks.

• Work alongside Elders, Traditional Healers, interdisciplinary teams, and community partners to ensure holistic care.

• Facilitate or support culturally grounded groups, educational sessions, and peer-based recovery activities.

• Participate in community outreach and awareness initiatives related to addiction and wellness.

• Maintain accurate and confidential client records and contribute to program evaluation and reporting.

Education & Training:

• 1–3 years of experience supporting individuals with substance use, mental health, or related social challenges.

• Experience in Indigenous health, community-based recovery supports, or culturally grounded program environments preferred.

• Training in harm reduction, crisis intervention, non-violent crisis intervention, ASIST, naloxone administration, or similar is an asset.

Preferred Experience & Knowledge:

• Experience supporting individuals with substance use, mental health, or related challenges.

• Knowledge of Indigenous wellness practices, trauma-informed care, and harm reduction approaches.

• Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
