Ice Cream and Coffee Shop Manager

Job Title: Manager

Hours: 35 per week

Wage: $36.40

Start Date: May 1, 2025

Location: 1650 Delkatla St. Masset, BC

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Manager to join our OMVC Economic Development Ice Cream and Coffee Shop team. The Manager will play an integral role in ensuring smooth operations, focusing on elite customer service and employee management.

Reporting Relationship:

This position reports directly to the Economic Development Manager or designated

supervisor.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in food service, hospitality, or retail management.
• Food Safe Certification.
• Previous barista experience is an asset.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry up to 30 pounds and working in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, when necessary, and peak business hours.
• Class 5 driver's licence.
• Willingness to participate in training programs.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Create relationships with local schools, social development and funders to create work and training opportunities.
• Train and manage staff to ensure excellent customer service and a4 positive work environment.
• Track stock levels, place orders and minimize waste to control costs.
• Oversee opening and or closing procedures, manage staff scheduling and ensure efficient workflow.
• Ensure a welcoming atmosphere, handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints professionally.
• Ensure quality coffee and ice cream service, maintaining consistency in recipes and presentation.
• Ensure a clean and well-maintained store environment, including equipment cleaning and upkeep.
• Address operational issues quickly to maintain smooth business operations.
• Monitor daily sales, cash handling and POS transactions.
• Oversee the parameters of the leasing agreement and maintenance schedules for the OMVC food truck.
