About the Role:


The Dal Kaahli Harbour Authority is seeking a reliable and self-motivated Harbour

Attendant to oversee the daily operations of our small craft harbour in Masset. This is a

hands-on role, responsible for ensuring the safety, cleanness, and functionality of the.

docks, as well as managing moorage-related administration.


Our facility currently offers water and hydro hookups only, with no washrooms, showers,

or laundry facilities (planned for future development).


Key Responsibilities:


+ Perform regular dock walks to inspect vessel conditions, waterline levels, tie-

‘downs, and utility use.


+ Maintain a clean and safe harbour environment, including routine debris removal

and equipment upkeep.


«Issue, collect, and file moorage agreements and Non-Liveaboard Declarations.


+ Collect moorage and hydro fees, issue receipts, and prepare simple invoices.


«Monitor and report on moorage violations, unsafe conditions, and emergency

incidents.


+ Assist vessels during docking and undocking as needed.


+ Conduct minor maintenance tasks (e.g., greasing dock fittings, checking pumps,

securing loose nes).


+ Maintain accurate vessel inventory and dock usage logs.


+ Respond to emergencies and coordinate with management when needed.


+ Communicate respectfully with all harbour users and represent the Harbour

Authority professionally


Preferred Qualifications:


Valid maritime certifications and qualifications are preferred.


Ability to work under pressure and in dynamic environments.


Strong communication and organizational skills.


Familiarity with marine environments or small craft harbours preferred.


Comfortable with physical, outdoor work in all weather conditions.


Experience with cash handling, simple invoicing, or office software an asset.


CPRI First Aid training, VHF radio use, or small vessel handling experience are


considered assets


+ Ability to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays, as

required.


Additional Notes:


+ The successful applicant must be available on-call for storm of emergency


responses.

«This role is vital to the revitalization of our harbour, promoting safety and


‘community engagement.

+ Equipment such as pumps, pressure washer and basic tools will be provided.

+ Company cell phone, laptop and printer for the office will be provided.
