POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the HaiCo Executive Assistant will support the governance and communications for HaiCo. The HaiCo Executive Assistant will provide support to the management team and board of directors and create and design HaiCo communication content.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with the CEO to develop meeting agendas and schedules, and record and distribute minutes for the board and it's committees.
- Post and maintain HaiCo’s corporate records on SharePoint.
- Coordinate travel arrangements for the HaiCo board of directors and management staff.
- Work closely with the Communication Department of the Council of Haida Nation regarding HaiCo and its subsidiaries' communications.
- Create and maintain HaiCo’s communication content on social media platforms and the website.
- Create, design, and distribute HaiCo’s quarterly newsletter and community announcements.
- Plan and coordinate all community engagements for the HaiCo group.
- Ensure strict confidence in relation to all HaiCo businesses and board matters.
- Other related duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
- Exceptional business writing and communication skills.
- Strong organizational, coordination, and time management abilities.
- Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, Canva and InDesign.
- Solid interpersonal skills and experience collaborating in team settings.
- Familiarity with Haida Gwaii and Haida culture and values.
- An understanding of Haida language as it appears in our official communications.
- Proactive self-starter capable of working independently.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
TRAINING, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience at an equivalent level of responsibility.
- Significant experience with coordination, planning, and working as part of a team.
