GIS Technician Trainee

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in with GIS, databases, imagery, and technology is an asset but not required.

• Physically fit and comfortable with outdoor work in remote locations may be required at times

• Previous experience with drones and devices is an asset

• Strong team player with good communication skills.

• Class 5 driver’s license preferred.

• Preference will be given to Haida citizens and Old Massett residents.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist the GIS Lead with daily mapping and database tasks

• Assist in the development of key technologies that will help to broaden OMVCs governing abilities

• IT and Account management, ensuring programs and departments can operate smoothly

• Ensuring programs and departments have the technology and apps required to perform daily tasks
