Position: Fish Processing Supervisor


As the Fish Processing Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our shoreside marine services. You will manage a small team of fish processors and ensure the smooth operation of our facility, including fish processing, packaging, freezing, and supply distribution. Your leadership and organizational skills will be essential to the success of our operations and the guest experience. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

  • Oversee all aspects of the fish processing team, including the daily operations of the shore-based marine centre. 
  • Manage fish processing, including cleaning and packaging of guests' catch.
  • Distribute supplies and maintain inventory management for the dock.
  • Record fish stats and ensure proper documentation for guest catches.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service, ensuring client satisfaction at all times.
  • Supervise and train up to 3 Fish Processors, ensuring smooth operations and team coordination.


Qualifications:

  • First Aid certification.
  • Valid Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC).
  • Class 5 Driver’s License required.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Word.
  • Previous experience supervising, training, and directing personnel.
  • Experience with fish cleaning and processing.
  • Familiarity with marine operation standards and protocols.
  • Knowledge of sport fishing techniques and regulations.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.


Additional Details:

  • This is a seasonal position based on Haida Gwaii, British Columbia. 
  • Contracts run from May to mid-September, totaling approximately 4.5 months.
  • Room and board are provided, as well as flights to and from Vancouver.
