POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Head Chefs, and maintenance lead the Haida House Dishwasher will be responsible for the daily overall cleanliness and organization of the kitchen’s equipment. This includes using commercial dishwashing equipment, and spending periods of time standing at the dish station sink, wiping counters

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  


  • Maintain a clean kitchen, properly washing dishes and keeping dish area clean and organized 
  • Wash, stack, and stores glassware, silverware, cookware, and storage containers   
  • Maintain dry storage area and organization of storage shelves  
  • Scrape, rinse, and load dishes, pots, pans, and utensils into dish machines.
  • Operate industrial dishwashers safely and efficiently.
  • Unload and organize clean dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
  • Keep dishwashing area clean, dry, and organized.
  • Take out garbage, compost, and recycling regularly.
  • Sweep and mop kitchen floors as needed.
  • Refill soap and rinse aid dispensers.
  • Follow proper food safety and sanitation direction.
  • Report any broken or malfunctioning equipment to supervisors.
  • Support the kitchen team with general cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Routine raking, lawn and garden are as directed by maintenance cooridator.
  • Water plants and gardens as needed.
  • Foraging and harvesting as directed by chef or maintenance coorinator.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES 


  • Ability to lift 30 pounds 
  • Food Safe Level 1 Certification and asset  
  • Proven capacity for collaboration and working as part of a team 

 

TRAINING, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 


  • Experience working in a kitchen is considered an asset
