Deckhand
We are looking for additions to our team on the Pubnico Gemini. This operation involves live shellfish transport. All Crew members are required to operate safely at all times and abide by all Transport Canada Laws and Regulations.
Qualifications/Requirements
1st Mate - Fishing Master 4th Class or Watch Keeping Mate 150T – NC, Marine Advanced First Aid, all of which is required for the 1st Mate Position
Deckhand -Transport Canada Certification not required, MED's, ROC, First Aid
Job Description/Duties/Responsibilities
Main operation is on and off-loading procedures, deck work.
Vessel also conducts frequent anchoring and mooring operations, fendering and tying up other boats to offload.
Deployment of stabilizer assembly.
Navigational Watch Required all crew must stand a watch.
Supplying Fleet with usual provisions, errands.
General ship housekeeping and maintenance.
Applicants must be presentable and drug and alcohol free.
Please note experience is not a requirement. We will train the right individuals. Experience would be a plus.
Wage: $500 if certified per trip for the deck hand, $900 - $1000 per trip for the 1st Mate Certified
