Job Opportunity: Data Organizer (Skidegate, BC)
The Laskeek Bay Conservation Society (LBCS) is offering a new short-term work opportunity for Spring 2026. We are looking for someone to compile and organize long-term scientific datasets derived from the research of marine and terrestrial birds, invasive species, marine mammals, and/or marine plastics.
Duties may include:
1. Work closely with and be mentored by the LBCS Executive Director and Lead Biologist
2. Oversee the entry, storage, and retrieval of data across various sources
3. Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of data across multiple systems
4. Maintain and update spreadsheets, records, and data repositories
5. Identify and resolve data discrepancies, errors, and inconsistencies
Qualifications:
• Resident of Haida Gwaii
• Experience working with Excel or similar data management programs
• Ecology/biology background is an asset
Logistics:
• Compensation will be $30/hour for approximately 150 hours
• Work will begin after April 7 and be completed by June 26, 2026
• Some flexibility in work schedule is possible
• Work is in-person at our Skidegate office
