Project Information

Morgan Earthworks Ltd, is providing construction services to the support to the AltaGas/Vopek $1.35B expansion of the The Ridley Island Energy Export Facility (REEF). This facility is a large-scale liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and bulk liquids terminal and marine berthing and loading facility on Ridley Island at the Port of Prince Rupert. The addition of liquid bulk cargoes diversifies and grows Prince Rupert’s cargo mix and the associated ‘gateway industry’ in northern BC. This project will use existing infrastructure components and its open access nature maximizes the density and volume of cargo throughput over a minimal terminal footprint.


Responsibilities:

Job Duties and Responsibilities


  • Setting up work areas with signage and marking out hazards.
  • Carrying and delivering construction materials.
  • Shovelling soil and/or equipment tracks.
  • Flagging and traffic control.
  • Shooting grade.
  • Equipment watch.
  • Hand excavation around facilities and erosion control installation, working with geotextile materials.
  • Communicate effectively with other team members to ensure efficiently.
  • Champion our safety culture by adhering to Morgan's Safe Work Procedures and PPE policies.
  • Adhere to project specifications and guidelines to maintain quality standards.
  • Showcase your exceptional judgement and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate your versatility by collaborating effectively with team members and independently taking ownerships of tasks.

Qualifications:

Qualifications


  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a construction labourer.
  • Proven experience as a packer operator in the heavy civil earthworks, construction, mining, or oilfield maintenance services industry.
  • Experience operating a packer would be preferred.
  • Must have a valid class 5 driver’s license, and a clean 3-year abstract.
  • Ability to interpret Survey layout would be an asset.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.

Requirements


  • Must have (or be willing and able to obtain) CSTS-09, OSSA Regional or BSO or CSO, Intermediate First Aid, H2S Alive or Awareness, Bear Awareness (in class).
  • As a condition of employment with Morgan Earthworks Ltd. for this specific project only, all employees will be required to join and become a member of the Canada West Construction Union (CWCU), and Employees will participate in the CWCU benefits program
  • Provide your own steel toed 6" lace up boots (CSA Approved)
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs repetitively and safely.
  • As this is a safety sensitive position alcohol, drug and fit to work assessment is a pre-employment requirement. The fit to work assessment is to ensure common movements and tasks can be performed for this position based on a physical demand analysis of bona fide occupational requirements.

Pay Range: CAD $26.00 - CAD $28.50 /Hr.
