Title: Recreational Fisheries Monitor
Type: Full time, 35-40 hours per week from June to September 2025.
Location: Based in Skidegate.
Salary: $23.32 – $26.23 per hour based on experience.
Description of work
Under the direction of the Salmon Biologist or Operations Supervisor, the Recreational Fisheries Monitor will conduct interviews of anglers when they return to the dock, interact with the public, identify catch by species, and record clear and precise data. Additionally, the Fisheries Monitor may collect biological samples from Chinook and Coho salmon as part of ongoing genetic studies. There may be additional opportunities to participate in recreational vessel monitoring and other Haida Fisheries projects.
Candidates are required to provide their own transportation for shifts; most shifts take place from 12pm-7pm on the Daajing Giids dock. All required training will be provided for the successful candidate.
