An Outreach Worker, is KEY to the program’s success. You are the contact for the day-to-day activities and services offered by the BAH project.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Present a positive and professional image of the organization during all interactions with outside agencies, staff, Board of Directors and community members
  • Assist seniors with a range of services which may include shopping, light housekeeping, light yard work, transportation, library book pickup/return etc. See possible range of services from the BAH Program Handbook (provided upon being hired)
  • Provide friendly visits in their homes to identify those seniors in your community who need help to get out to community events and/or would like wellness check-ins

  • Keep a journal or diary of those you spoke with and added to your list of seniors wanting some BAH services. Communicate diary input to the Coordinator after the end of your work week
  • Keep track of your weekly hours and send to Coordinator every second Friday

  • Arrange for a Criminal Record Check/Working With Vulnerable Adults form with the RCMP (available from Coordinator
  • Sign a Confidentiality form
  • Other tasks as communicated by the Coordinator or Manager

Work assignments are given out by the Coordinator. For example, we start with two hours of light housekeeping a week and after organizing a client’s space, it could become one hour a week. That way we are able to help more clients, as we are continually adding to our list of those needing services.

Wage is $25/hour. Number of hours per week depend upon your availability and how many clients you can handle. Pay is every two weeks.
