This is a great opportunity for a motivated culinary professional in a remote, team-oriented setting. Ocean House is set to open in April 2025, featuring a Breakfast menu, with dinner service expected to follow in September, offering significant growth potential.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

·       Prepare ingredients for cooking, which includes chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and creating sauces and marinades.

·       Cook and plate dishes according to recipes and customer requests.

·       Ensure that all food is cooked to the appropriate temperature and is safe to serve.

·       Maintain a clean and organized workstation by washing dishes and wiping down surfaces.

·       Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and timely service.

·       Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage.

·       Maintain a positive attitude and work ethic, even during busy and high-pressure situations.

·       Perform other related tasks as assigned.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES  

·       Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations

·       Proficiency in cooking methods and procedures, as well as a solid understanding of knife-handling skills.

·       Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure

·       Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team

·       Ability to read and follow cooking directions

·       Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays

·       Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects

·       Attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately

·       Positive attitude and willingness to learn and improve cooking skills



TRAINING, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE  

·       2 plus years of experience in a similar role in a restaurant, hotel or resort

·       High School Diploma or equivalent required; a culinary degree is preferred.

·       Food Safe
