Labourer

CIF Construction is a premium heavy civil contractor specializing in concrete and earthworks, delivering high quality projects for a range of industries including mining, oil & gas, forestry, and energy. We are looking for skilled Labourers interested in working at our Concrete Batch Plant on Ridley Island near Prince Rupert, BC. These positions will work 14 days on/14 days off, 10-hour per day rotation.

Our Labourers spend the day playing a crucial role supporting all phases of construction. No two days are the same, and we pride ourselves on cross training so we can continually expand our range of expertise.

Workdays include performing tasks such as:

·       Building formwork for concrete lock blocks

·       Placing and finishing concrete

·       Loading, unloading, and transporting raw materials (sand, gravel, cement, additives) to and from the batching area

·       Operating material handling equipment to move materials

·       Safely operating various hand and shop tools

·       Assisting in maintaining and cleaning equipment and machinery used for concrete mixing

·       Performing basic maintenance tasks such as greasing, lubricating, and checking equipment for wear

·       Assisting in the batching and mixing of concrete to the proper specifications

·       Monitoring and adjusting material flow to ensure consistent concrete quality

·       Helping prepare and loading the mixed concrete for transportation to job sites

·       Setting up and preparing tools and equipment required for the concrete production process

·       Cleaning and organizing the batch plant area to maintain a safe and efficient working environment

·       Ensuring that work areas are free of debris and other hazards

·       Working at heights

·       Working and operating in all weather conditions

For this position you come equipped with:

·       Demonstrated commitment to working safely

·       Valid Fall Protection, Confined Space & WHMIS certifications are assets

·       Valid equipment operating certification is an asset

·       Valid class 5 driver’s licence is an asset

·       Experience with concrete production is an asset

·       Experience working on industrial projects is an asset

·       Valid First Aid certificate is an asset
