An employment opportunities exist for CONTINUING Part-Time (0.771 FTE) Haida Language and Culture Teachers effective September 1, 2025 at Daaxiigan Sk'adaa Née K-12 School.

Requirements:

• A university teaching major, or its equivalent, directly related to the teaching position;
• Understanding and being committed to the calls to action of the Truth and Reconciliation commission, including the eradication of existing and persistent equity gaps for specific groups of children;
• Working knowledge of and experience in Haida language and culture as approved by the Old Masset Village Council Language Authority.
• Ability to design curriculum and instruction and assessment or personalization of student

learning;

• Successful teaching experience in the position or in a similar position;
• High level of skills related to successful classroom management, and to the development and maintenance of a positive classroom climate;
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, instruct and evaluate learning activities for students' strengths and for their academic, social, emotional and behavioural needs;
• Proven interpersonal skills, work ethic and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, education assistants, parents and administrators;
• The ability to work in a team situation daily in the classroom;
• Experience with multi-grade classes an asset;
• Understanding of local resources and environment;
• Teacher Regulation Branch (TRB) certification.

Competitive Salary: $30,518-$87,370 per annum

Remote and Rural Allowance: $2,340 per annum

Travel Allowance: $876 per annum
