An employment opportunity exists for a Temporary Part-Time (0.857 FTE) Foods
and Nutrition 10-12, Foods and Nutrition 8-9 & Culinary Arts 11-12 Teacher
effective September 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026 at Gidg̱alang Ḵuuyas Naay Secondary School.
Requirements:
• A university teaching major, or its equivalent, relevantly related to the teaching
position;
• Understanding and being committed to the calls to action of the Truth and
Reconciliation commission, including the eradication of existing and persistent equity
gaps for specific groups of children;
• The focus of this role will be to collaborate with classroom teachers to co-plan, coteach
and co-assess for personalized student learning;
• Be prepared to provide support in creating inclusive learning environments where
students are connected, supported, engaged and challenged;
• Have proven skills with creating strength-based, core competency centred student
action plans and supporting student success through individual student goal setting;
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, instruct and evaluate learning activities for
students’ strengths and for their academic, social, emotional and behavioural needs;
• Understanding of local resources and environment;
• Teacher Regulation Branch certification.
Competitive Salary: $58,729 – 97,116 per annum
Remote and Rural Allowance: $2,601 per annum
Travel Allowance: $974 per annum
This position is eligible for a pre-employment signing bonus of $5,000 in return for a
successful candidate accepting a job offer for this position.
Teachers currently employed with the district need only submit a letter of intent.
