$31.34 – 32.61 per hour based on experience, Full-time 35-40 hrs. per week

DESCRIPTION
The EA is the department’s primary point of contact. You are responsible for planning, coordinating and overseeing all office administrative duties and supporting the department’s team. You will work with management and the team to develop systems to track, organize, and monitor department functions and projects.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage incoming and outgoing communications, including emails, phone calls, reports, and internal correspondence flow in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain important information and documents organized physically, and electronically.
- Conduct research and create reports on the departments’ activities.
- Organize and coordinate meetings with the communications committee, team, other departments and external agencies.
- Take minutes during meetings, interviews, and focus groups.
- Track, respond to, and liaise with research applicants.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12, with a preference for training in administrative courses or an equivalent combination of education, skill and experience.
- A minimum of 40 words per minute for typing and word processing.
- Ability to work in a self-supervisory, multi-task environment, within clear timelines.
- Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated capacity to build relationships, work effectively in a team, and adapt creatively to changing situations.
- Class 5 Driver’s Licence
- Office experience, with an ability to take initiative and be a self-starter.
- Interest in and knowledge of Haida laws, values, traditions and Haida governance.
