As an Ecologist Team Leader for this term, you will:
1. Ensure implementation of marine monitoring field shifts with the Gwaii Haanas Marine Team and collaborators to support the Gwaii Haanas Marine Ecological Sustainability Monitoring Program;
2. Supervise staff in office, and support field work as needed, to ensure implementation of the marine monitoring and other marine related programs;
3. Work with marine team to conduct data entry and quality assurance of field data collected, and analyses of existing data as needed that furthers understanding and monitoring of the Gwaii Haanas marine area; and
4. Maintain collaborations with Gwaii Haanas management partners and external collaborators such as the Haida Nation Fisheries and Marine Planning Programs, DFO, Province of BC, industry, and academia.

Due to its remote location Gwaii Haanas is categorized as an Isolated Post providing certain additional benefits:
· Isolated Post Allowances range from approximately $10,314 to $17,189 per year based on if the employee has dependants or not.
· Vacation Travel Assistance is provided once a year of approximately $1,937.72 for each eligible member of the household.
· Travel associated with non-elective medical and dental treatment, bereavement, or compassionate leave may be eligible for reimbursement.
