Hourly Wage: $29.17 to $33.49

Union Grid Level: 12
Terms: Full-time; 35 hours/week
Hours: M-F flexible as needed to meet client needs

THE JOB: NCCS is looking for a motivated and compassionate person who communicates easily with people. The Community Connection Advisor builds networks of supports and services for children, youth, and families by using a person-centered approach and by applying the values and practices of community development. The Community Connection Advisor receives referrals and meets with families to identify assets and gifts of children and youth with support needs. Further referrals, supports, guidance, and problem solving strategies to address issues related to family challenges, including reducing barriers to access services, are all part of the role.
THE CANDIDATE: NCCS is looking for people who hold the fundamental belief that each individual matters and that quality assessment and intervention services include culturally inclusive and trauma informed practices. As a member of an energetic team, the successful candidate will bring humanity, support, and guidance to families in need, as well as a vision of the future that will address complex community needs, including the use of remote service delivery technologies.
Responsibilities of the Community Connection Advisor include:
NCCS is looking for an individual with the following Qualifications
· Diploma or certificate in an area of human and/or social services
· One (1) year of experience working with children and families
· An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Core Competencies include:
· Strong skills for effective communication – listening, speaking, and writing
· Ability to use standard office technology and ability to learn new programs and applications
· Strong Interpersonal skills to work with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds.
· Understands, demonstrates, and maintains professional boundaries with co-workers, clients and community partners
Other Requirements:
· Clear Criminal Record Review
· Physical ability to meet job requirements
· Class 5 driver's license, clear driver's abstract and daily access to and use of vehicle
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This is a unionized position with salary and benefits subject to the requirements of the BC Government Employees Union’s Collective Agreement.
