Title: Boat Operator and Equipment Manager
Type: Full time, 35-40 hours per week from March to October 2025.
Location: Based in Masset.
Salary: $31.91 – $35.90 per hour based on experience.
Description of work
Under the direction of the Program Manager and Operations Supervisor, the Boat Operator is accountable and responsible for running efficient and cost-effective field and boat operations, in keeping with vessel policies and OHS regulations. The boat operator will also be responsible for maintenance of Skilay, outboard motors, workboats, trailers, generators, water pumps and other equipment that are part of the Haida Fisheries Program inventory.
Candidates are required to have a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License and all relevant certificates for running a 25-foot vessel (i.e. SVOP, MED-A3), first aid certification and boating experience would be considered an asset. Training will be provided to the successful candidate.
