Youth Development Co-Ordinator (Full Time)


Change Makers’ Education Society




• Work alongside Change Makers staff to accomplish identified goals

• Work with youth to help se​cure and maintain housing

• Conduct interviews and intake forms to assess youths’ strengths and identify needs

• Assist youth in transitional housing with their life skills, house responsibilities, and goals

• Connect youth (young adults) with housing opportunities, build relationships with landlords

• Deliver basic literacy / life skills workshops (goal setting, budgeting, food prep, tax filing)

• Act as a mentor, maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality

• Ensure youth have necessary resources to achieve their goals (furniture, computers, income)

• Connect youth with income supports, educational and employment opportunities

• Maintain progress reports and statistics for purposes of reporting, evaluation and research

• Abide by all Policies and Procedures, help maintain site cleanliness and safety

• Additional responsibilities as assigned



• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; fluent in English

• Must undertake a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check as a condition of employment

• Excellent computer skills: MS Teams, MS office suite, e-mail, web applications, zoom, social





• Education or experience with social services, life-skills, coaching, literacy, education,

empowerment or community development

• Possess a positive attitude, exhibit an energetic and creative spirit, demonstrate an ethical

approach to work, and willingness to motivate others and try new ideas

• Strong organizational and time-management skills, and excellent computer skills

• Ability to work independently to achieve professional goals within timelines and budgets

• Confident and approachable with a positive attitude, solution oriented

• Willing to collaborate and work as part of a team

• Take initiative and inspire others to achieve their goals

• Knowledge of First Nations cultures and history, an understanding of how these unique cultures

have been impacted by colonialism and willingness to honor and support traditional wisdom.
