Job description and duties

Coast Mountain College (CMTN), Prince Rupert campus, invites applications for an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to fill the permanent full-time position of Manager – Community and Enrolment Services.

Duties: Reporting to the Registrar/Director of Institutional Research, the Manager of Community and Enrolment Services is responsible for leadership of academic advising, enrolment services, and campus management. In addition, the Manager engages with communities in and around Prince Rupert including Haida Gwaii.

The Manager is responsible for the supervision of staff located in and across CMTN’s campuses including Prince Rupert, Terrace, Hazelton, and Smithers.

As a member of the executive team, the Manager provides oversight of the Prince Rupert campus and solves challenging issues regarding space, safety, and teamwork. In addition, the Manager serves as the face of the college in the community and beyond, representing the college in remote communities, including Haida Gwaii, with industry, and in the local community.

The Manager needs to be a strategic thinker with excellent communication and skilled leadership. The College has launched an ambitious strategic plan to become the college of choice for experiential place-based learning. To accomplish this, the Manager must be able to live and lead the college values of Adventure, Transformation, and Integrity. Candidates with experience working with Indigenous communities are preferred.

Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree with; a graduate degree is preferred
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Two or more years of leadership experience
  • Experience working in post-secondary education
  • Experience in academic advising and enrolment services, or equivalent
  • Knowledge of, and engagement with, Indigenous and rural communities
  • Experience working in a unionized environment
  • Ability to navigate new technologies and support managing complex budgets
  • Leadership style that is positive, inclusive, and collaborative
  • Resonance with the CMTN core values of integrity, adventurous, and transformative
  • Proven ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent computer skills including PowerPoint, Word, Excel and database software; understanding of a student information system preferred
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license as frequent inter-campus travel is required
