We are seeking an energetic person with superior interpersonal skills that adapts easily to different audiences to be an Instructor in our Training and Assessment Department. The successful candidate will provide training in topics such as employability skills, essential skills and life skills to the general public and to program clients.  Preference will be given to those with expertise in one or more of the following topics:  computers, construction, industry, customer service, hospitality and tourism, and/or adult education.

The successful candidate will bring:

  • Experience training, facilitating or supervising groups
  • Ability to motivate and inspire adult learners with various levels of education and experience
  • Knowledge of the local labour market, employer needs, population traits and community resources
  • Strong research and development skills to independently develop, market and deliver
  • Ability to work comfortably in virtual and in-person classroom setting

Main responsibilities are to:

  • Create a positive and interactive learning environment for students
  • Design and prepare course content to meet training objectives
  • Deliver engaging information filled training sessions and workshops to reach stated training objectives
  • Adjust deliver material and approach to meet needs of the clients in virtual and online settings
  • Prepare, deliver and analyze training evaluations
  • Monitor participant progress to promote strong outcomes and report on progress to other program areas as required
  • Consult with other program areas to identify client training and workshops needs and priorities
  • Research, identify and develop new topics and approaches to fit with local labour market demands
  • Maintenance and upkeep of curriculum library
  • Research proposal opportunities and develop proposals for future training and skills programs
  • Develop relationships with employers, service agencies and other stakeholders for proposals and ongoing delivery of training topics to clients
  • Participate in cross-department initiatives and projects


  • A minimum of 2 years experience in the Human Service or Adult Education Sector
  • Post secondary education in social sciences, education, communications or related field
  • Provincial Instructors Diploma is considered an asset
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, video conferencing and online learning software
  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Clean criminal record check
  • Travel to surrounding communities and a personal vehicle/drivers license is a requirement of this position
