Position Summary: Supports and coordinates the services of child care and other community service providers to facilitate the inclusion of children who require extra support in childcare settings.
• Evaluates the children’s progress, reviews the level of support needs and individual plans, and ensure that services are coordinated, appropriate and accessible.
• Meet with families and their children to assess the needs of the child or youth in a childcare setting.
• Work with the child care provider and family to develop and monitor strategies for the child so they can fully participate in inclusive child care.
• Work with the childcare provider, family, and school district to support transition to kindergarten
• Deliver practical professional learning opportunities to childcare programs in the region regarding foundational skills and knowledge for providing inclusive childcare.
Education & Training: Diploma or degree in early childhood education or a related field and two years work-related experience
• Maintains related records in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Class 5 driver’s licence, clear driver’s abstract and daily access to and use of vehicle
• Comprehensive organizational skills while working with limited supervision
• Understand, demonstrate and maintain professional boundaries with co-workers, clients and other stakeholders
• Clear Criminal Record review
