Francophone (Full Time)




L’association des Francophones et Francophiles du Nord-Ouest (AFFNO) is a regional non-profit society that promotes French language, culture and education, and we are seeking a French-speaking candidate for the Terrace-Kitimat corridor. The position, which includes a competitive wage and includes a monthly allowance for gas and phone, is by contract for five months (20 hours per week on average), and begins as of November 1st, 2021.

Reporting to both the Executive Director and/or President, the Coordinator will work on forming and reforming partnerships and alliances in both communities (both Francophone and Francophile) as well as connecting and reconnecting with old and new members of the association. In addition, the Coordinator will seek to connect with new Francophones (including immigrants) who have recently settled in the corridor. Finally, the Coordinator will promote, sell and coordinate the upcoming Franco-fun 2022 Festival, set for Kitimat February 25 to 27, 2022.


The ideal candidate must either be Francophone, or at least affluent in speaking, reading and writing in French. Some experience working in French and/or for a non-profit is encouraged, but not necessary. Candidate must also have their own vehicle, and be proficient with various computer programs (MS Word, Excel, etc.). More details on this position can be acquired by calling 250-627-1313
