After School Club Youth Support Worker (Part Time)

Position: After School Club Youth Support Worker



Responsible for being on site at all program sessions and for assisting participants to take part in the planned activities, providing positive behaviour support and supporting children with challenging behaviours. This position will work as a part of a team for program planning and debriefing and all team members are supported in completing required training such as First Aid Certification, HIGH FIVE Certification, Trauma Aware Practice, and other professional development opportunities as they arise.

Positions available for programs in Masset and Port Clements. Contracts are 10 weeks long, three contract periods within the school year: October-December, January-March, and April-June.

9-20hrs/week @ $25/hr



A successful applicant must be willing to adhere to all COVID-19 related protocols and have a clean criminal record check for vulnerable sector. Youth support staff or Person of Rapport:

  • must be skilled at building connections and establishing trust with young people;
  • should have training or professional development and experience in the area of building rapport with participants and positive behaviour support;
  • may already be known to the participants (e.g. teacher, education assistant, youth worker, individual from an outside agency)
  • must promote positive, anti-racist, inclusive group dynamics
