Description

The accounts payable clerk primarily processes, verifies, and balances accounts payable financial records and business transactions, enters data into the OMVC finance department computerized system and executes appropriate invoice/bill payment procedures. Maintains and updates files, assists with travel claims and maintains petty cash disbursements for the admin office. May assist with other financial duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 graduation and/or a minimum of 5 years related work experience
  • Completion of or working towards recognized certification in bookkeeping

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge and understanding of Haida culture
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills and ability to work effectively with a variety of people and circumstances
  • Basic computer and data entry skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft and Excel
  • Ability to establish priorities based on assigned work, requirements and timelines
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeaner and confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently

Rate of Pay: 23.40$ an hour
