About Active Care Services:

Active Care Youth and Adult Services is a progressive, innovative organization operating residential resources for children, youth and adults in BC. Active Care has been operating staffed residential resources in Kamloops for 25 years. It is our mandate to provide innovative support services of exceptional quality and to do so in the context of a family home environment.

Goals, Growth and Development:

In Kamloops, we currently operate 36 staffed resources and have approximately 200 employees. Our organization’s goal is to support and develop relationships with communities throughout the province of BC. We are currently opening resources in the communities of Kamloops, Merritt, Enderby, Vernon, Kelowna, Prince Rupert, Terrace.

Youth Care Worker Roles and Responsibilities within Active Care Services:

As a live-in support worker with Active Care Youth and Adult Services, you will play a vital role in our organization. Your job will be rewarding, challenging and ever changing. Duties include all aspects of maintaining and taking care of a household, participating with clients in recreational activities, tutoring youth through educational programs, working alongside young adults in vocational programs and supporting them through complex behavioural challenges.

Active Care Services Expectations of Youth Care Workers:

It is our expectation that you will promote and reflect a positive team atmosphere when supporting our youth. This also includes professionalism when you are representing Active Care Youth and Adult Services in the community and/or when you identify yourself as an employee of Active Care Youth and Adult Services.

Employment Requirements:

Relevant education and/or 1 year related experience

First Aid

Two work references

One personal reference

Driver’s Abstract

Class 5 Driver’s License

Out-of-Country Criminal Record Check (if applicable, a criminal record check from your home country, if you have lived in Canada for less than 5 years)
