The Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development (FLNRORD) is structured in 23 districts within eight regions and provides clients with a single point of access to natural resource authorizations and resource management services. The Resource Manager works within natural resource management or infrastructure development (for example land, water and forest management) and is accountable for managing the delivery of district wide operations consistent with ministry priorities, objectives, and legislative requirements.  This employee oversees a team of technical, administrative, and professional staff.

Known as the “Galapagos of British Columbia”, Haida Gwaii is filled with a variety of wildlife, as well as a variety of activities. The Village of Queen Charlotte continues to be the main administrative centre for the islands, perfect for boating, fishing, hiking, kayaking, and exploring.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Degree, diploma, certification or equivalent in the natural resource management or business/public administration or minimum 3 years of a combination of education, training and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the operational management of natural resources; preference may be given to candidates with recent (within last 5 years) experience in land, forest or water authorizations and First Nation consultation.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ recent (within last 5 years) experience successfully leading and coaching multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ recent (within last 5 years) experience successfully developing and maintaining working relationships and resolving problems with stakeholders in natural resource management or infrastructure development.
